Clean tidy, staff were excellent both in reception and at the bar
Bedroom windows could do with double glazing but it was a minor irritant
The Shepherd's Arms has been my hotel of choice when visiting Wellington over the last 15 years. Its village like location in Tinakori is a particular attraction coupled with the fact from here it is only a 15 minute stroll down into the CDB. It has an interesting selection of rooms enhanced by the Victorian style decor throughtout. I have invariably found the staff friendly, helpful and efficient. The room rate is very competitive for such a well located hotel.
Bathroom decor, though perfectly clean, is starting to look little tired and some refurbishment is warrented now.
The staff were just fabulous. There is a relaxing but luxurious quaintness to the place and rooms. The bath in room 2 is just to die for
I was slightly disappointed as the photo of the place showed a four poster bed which there wasnt in my room . But the bed was so comfy
Ambiance and warmness of older hotel and attached pub.
Lively bar and restaurant
There is only free parking when there are no drinkers filling the small attached car park. No dedicated parking for hotel guests. Arrive before 5pm or after midnight.
Although the hotel rooms are over a pub, the room was not noisy. Thehotel is very handy to the Interislander ferry terminal for our early morning sailing.
Convenient to Interislander Ferry and very good value for money.
Great staff. Great food. Very comfortable. Quiet and an enjoyable walk to everywhere we wanted to go.
I really liked the decore and the four poster bed!
The bathroom area didnt seem to be very clean.
Great location, great staff and we'll be staying there again. Highly recommended.
The food was a wee bit average.
Location & set up of the room.
Lack of parking, room was a little tied. TV needs to be raised so can be enjoyed whilst in bed.
Gorgeous room and very comfortable. Plenty of room. Spa bath and really good shower. Really friendly and helpful staff.
The stairs would not be good for any one with a physical disability ( which ruled out a friend of mine coming to see the room).....and it was a little noisy ( road traffic) at times but not unbearable......having said that, it was silent during most of the night, it was more daytime traffic....if they had double glazed windows it would be perfect!
it was ok
it was really very mediocre just acceptable
Friendly staff, a bit of history, easy walk to city centre and top food as well as excellent restaurants within a stone's throw. All up a good experience.
Usual mildew in bathroom, but always a challenge in NZ.
Proximity to the Central City. Quaint olde world charm.
Non existent service. Room not made up and breakfast things not replenished for second day of visit No newspaper, despite advertising saying newspapers would be delivered No hair dryer, despite advertising saying they were available in rooms Hotel locked and no one in attendance after 8.00am Obvious lack of interest in the comfort and wellbeing of clients. It is quite clear that the proprietors of this hotel are only interested in bar and restaurant trade. I would not reccommend this hotel to anyone
